Home–school assignment tracker

A daily tracker that records assignments and completion, checked by the teacher and signed at home.

Setup: 20 minutes Who: Teacher, family

How to do it

  1. Set up a weekly tracker with subjects, assignments, and due dates.
  2. At the end of each class, the student writes the assignment and the teacher initials it.
  3. At home, the family checks work is done and signs.
  4. The next day, the student turns in the work and the teacher marks it received.
  5. Review weekly with the student and celebrate improvement.

Why it works

  • Closes the communication gap about assignments
  • Builds organization habits
  • Lets families support without guessing

When to use it

  • Students with frequent missing assignments
  • Families asking how to help
  • Students with organization or memory difficulties

Tips and pitfalls

  • Keep it quick for teachers: initials only.
  • Use a digital version if the family prefers email or an app.
